Heeeeyyyy
I’m Michael Gaty.
I’m an Ottawa born, Halifax studied, and Toronto living actor, award winning director, and writer.
I was 2nd in Canada in Trampoline. When I was 13.
Now, I have lower back problems.
After lots of physiotherapy, I got my degree with honours in Classical Theatre. Since then, I’ve performed across Canada, and also, Dublin, where I ate multiple meat pies a day, until the staff told me it was bad for my health, and cut me off.
After moving to Toronto in 2014, I stopped eating meat pies, and started drinking tea. Also, I worked. And studied.
I’ve studied improv and comedy at the Second City, which resulted in me forming my own improv troupe. I regularly work with my acting and voice coach, and am currently earning my certificate in creative writing at UofT, with a focus on screenplay.
My self-created work focuses on the queer experience through a comedic perspective.
